in a world where technology and materialism prevail, war is all but a distant thought in the minds of america's young people. it started out as an attack on american soil and it has now escalated to a full on war. president bush didn't do anything to repair the damage that had undoubtedly been done to the country, and the pieces were left to president obama to pick up. however, due to racism and misgivings, the war in iraq has escalated even farther and the entire world is on the brink of war.
due to the increase of war torn countries coming into the fray, the united states has been named a figure head in the entire pandemonium. since the number of volunteers in the armed forces has declined dramatically, president obama had no choice but to re-enable the draft. the draft has not been in use since vietnam, and now it is being used again to pull in needed combat ready individuals to combat. however, this time around, there isn't a gender barrier. men and women all over the united states are getting their induction notices in the mail and it's the 1960s all over again. citizens of the united states are doing all they can to avoid the war, even as far as abandoning their country.
where do you fall as a member of this war-torn generation? are you safe within the confines of your university? or are you at risk as you labor everyday at a job that you hate since it's all you can do? are you in danger of the 21st century draft pull? what will you do if your ticket comes up and you have to meet up with uncle sam?
